Former Global Vice President, Strategy and Portfolio-Information Management & Analytics Services Hewlett-Packard Company
Ms. Logan has over twenty three years of experience in the areas of applied information sciences and strategies, performance management, process management, large-scale program management, and change management. Valerie’s experience includes over seven years as a global services leader with the Hewlett-Packard Company; four years with the IBM/PwC Global Business Intelligence Consulting Practice leading the internal programs that supported over 2,000 professionals globally; five years in consulting at Price Waterhouse leading large-scale BI programs for financial services clients; and five years in the telecommunications industry enabling enterprise-wide business process transformation.
Most recently, as a member of the executive team of HP’s Enterprise Services Information Management & Analytics organization, Valerie had global responsibility for strategy and portfolio management for solutions and services across industries and business process domains. She was focused on bringing to market differentiated offerings based on thought leadership, distinct IP and assets, and maximizing the breadth and depth of the HP portfolio and partner ecosystem. Previously, Valerie was responsible for the business intelligence services growth strategy and portfolio within HP Enterprise Services, including common methodologies, knowledge management and incubation of new service offerings. After joining HP via the acquisition of Knightsbridge Solutions in 2007, Valerie led the creation of HP’s Worldwide Information Management Consulting Practice.
Valerie is an active and passionate thought leader in the areas of information sciences and business intelligence strategies, supporting clients with their information and analytics evolution. She is a natural systems thinker- able to understand and distill complex concepts and systems for general understanding.
Ms. Logan is recognized as a pioneer in innovative consulting practices-recognized by Consulting Magazine in 2008 as one of eight top women in global consulting. She is known as an inspiring motivator and change agent- driven by a passion to synthesize information to solve real world problems. Combining a rare blend of analytical, technical, business and organizational strengths, with a natural curiosity and passion to solve problems in new ways- Valerie is known as a friendly, fun, open and talented professional dedicated to simplifying the complexity of big data for real impact.
When not busy traveling or working, Valerie works closely with youth and young adults- helping them to discover their unique skills, passions and esteem. Her commitment to mentoring students and professionals is in recognition and appreciation for early contributors to her life and career- just “paying it forward”. She is a member of the Dean’s Advancement Council for the School of Natural and Social Sciences, and an Advisor to the PACM (Professional Applied and Computational Mathematics) Program at Buffalo State College.
Valerie holds a B.S. in Mathematics from the State University of New York College at Buffalo and a M.S. in Applied Mathematics from New Mexico State University with a concentration in Operations Research. She is based in Sarasota, Florida, and summers in Rochester, New York.
